Sadly, it's not in the cards that a guy armed with a couple of manuals and some good intentions can write real-time, mult-threaded, interrupt-driven software with a GUI and a bunch of low-level driver interfaces. This is unfortunate, but there is no relief on the horizon. A common response is to blame Windows or the hardware or something, but the many bug-free commercial PC games (about $10 billion sold this year) reveal this to be sour grapes. We need to recruit some guys from Apple and Google and Intel and EA to get passionate about ham radio!
