My field day plans got scrambled, but I got on the air after all and it was fun.
Fifty QSOs, fifty states. 49 of them were with my K3; I left MO for last, and called CQ FD with my 2M HT to work a local guy for the final contact. First time I've called CQ in a contest for more than 50 years. In some ways it's actually a little harder than working DXCC in 24 hours, because when you have 99 countries there are a lot of possibilities for getting that last one, but when you get down to the end of the state roster, you gotta find that last needle in the QRM haystack. Anyway, it was really fun and like all hams I'm planning more and better stuff for next year.
