I have the KAF2 but to be honest I seldom use it. For some reason I've never found audio filters to be of much help. My experience goes back to the Autek QF-1A, SCAT filters, many different outboard DSP filters, etc. I'm sure they work well for others but I've never found them to work for my ears which seem to prefer wider audio (~350 Hz) before reaching my ear/brain's DSP stage. One exception is the K3's APF which is occasionally helpful under certain conditions. Here's some more information on the KAF2 which might help you decide. I used KI6WX's standard AF1 and "low-ringing" AF2 values in my unit: http://home.pacbell.net/johngreb/kaf2_filter_modifications.pdf 73, Bill -- View this message in context: http://elecraft.365791.n2.nabble.com/K2-question-on-options-tp6577413p6578509.html Sent from the Elecraft mailing list archive at Nabble.com. ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
