Sometime in the last week or so someone was asking about this. Last year, in preparation for a DX trip, I bought a Powerwerx SS-30DV from Ham Radio Outlet for about $110-$120. It's quite compact -- 5 inches x 6 1/2 inches x 2 1/2 inches and light weight, and is rated to run a 100W rig. As it turns out, I didn't take it on the trip, so it hasn't received its baptism of fire operating a K3 during a contest. :)
Yesterday I found time to check it out for RF trash, and couldn't find any in the ham bands on the antennas that are nearest to my operating desk -- a 160M vertical about 25 ft away, and an 160/80/40 wire dipole about 120 ft above the shack. That doesn't mean that there isn't any noise -- I have ,my share of noise from my neighbors appliances. I checked the ham bands from 160M through 6M. This PSU has a standard IEC jack for the line cord, Pomona (dual banana) jack on the rear panel, and two pairs of Power Poles on the front panel. 73, Jim K9YC ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
