Too late... I actually got bored at work one weekend and brought it in to clean it. It was done using: https://standards.nasa.gov/documents/viewdoc/3314920/3314920 In a class 100k clean room. :-) The flux was RMA I think and Kester solder was used. Hind sight is 20/20 as the flux would have been fine left alone as you stated. OCD comes with the job... Plus I cracked my LCD cover plate.
