When there's a web URL given, the safe approach is to open your browser and type the address in. That's what I did.
The real danger is that clicking on a link may take you to a site that is *not* the one shown or launch malware that is not obvious. 73, Ron AC7AC -----Original Message----- Rick, The sender's email has been compromised. Do not open the link. If you receive suspicious email like this, do not open the link, even if it is from a trusted source. There is too much email spoofing going on these days, and I do not know of any preventive other than your own computing safety - again, do not ever click on a link that look suspicious, even if the email looks like it has come from a trusted source. Just send such stuff to your junk email folder - if it later proves to be "official", then you might open the link, but not until it has been verified. 73, Don W3FPR On 8/16/2011 10:00 PM, Rick Beatty wrote: > I to the Group -- I got this Email from this guys, he piggy backed this > request for me to join his site, a solicitation, on an Elecraft group Email ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
