When running my K3 with my DB6NT/Kuhne transverter on 144MHz IF out is set to 1mW. That's o.k. for both CW and DATA A (WSJT), when 1mW is good for 25 W out at the TVTR. Thats perfect for my 2x GU74b amp. But in SSB it's completely different. My Heil Pro Set (electret) is working great but with mic gain set to "10" and compress to "20" ALC shows 6 to 7 units, compress some 10 but there aint no 1mW out at the IF out anymore. It's quite below, app. 0.5mW in the peak and thats good for not more than 10 W out at the transverter. I wonder why in SSB the IF out is much lower than in CW and DATA A mode. More mic gain aint help of course.
Any idea what I'm doing wrong (probably?).
