More information on shifts other than 170 Hz -- Joe Subich responded to me privately (I am not certain why he did not copy the list), pointing out that the AFSK submode also can handle any shift sent by the software -- as long as the Dual PB filter is not in use. Obviously, the K3 decode and display in the VFO B area will not work well with anything other than a 170 Hz shift.
Joe also mentioned the need for steps to center the tone(s) in the IF passband - I quote: "It will be necessary to adjust the DSP "width" and Mark to center the tones in the IF passband (e.g., it is often best to select MARK=1445 so FC is close to 1500 Hz particularly for wide shifts in LSB/AFSK A mode)." 73, Don W3FPR On 9/22/2011 4:15 PM, Don Wilhelm wrote: > Jim, > > If you are using DATA A submode, the K3 will receive and transmit > whatever shift the software you are using is capable of. > As far as I know, the FSK and AFSK data submodes have only 170 Hz shift. > 73, > Don W3FPR > > On 9/22/2011 3:53 PM, Jim McDonald wrote: >> Can the K3 receive (or transmit) RTTY shifts other than 170 Hz? >> >> > ______________________________________________________________ > Elecraft mailing list > Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft > Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm > Post: mailto:[email protected] > > This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net > Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html > ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
