Dennis, One can just hit TUNE, but the power output MAY be controlled by the menu TUN PWR menu setting. I would suggest that Don wire up a switch. A SPST switch and a 1/4 inch plug plus some wire are all that is needed. Wire one side of the switch to the tip of the phone plug, and the other side to the sleeve. Plug it into the KEY jack and close the switch.
