Curt, The KIO2 is not actually a requirement, but it does provide the K2 to KPA100 signals necessary. There are substitutes for the KIO2 for those who would like to make the appropriate connections inside their K2 between the Control Board P4 and a connector to the outside of the base K2. The signals that need to be piped out are: AUXBUS Ground 12 CTRL VRFDET 8R
