I think it varies a small amount from radio to radio, but I solved my problem
by getting a pair of RF suppressed, amplified speakers called COMspkr from West
Mountain Radio (the RigBlaster people). They were designed to work with a
computer sound card speaker out and since they have the 1/8" stereo plug on the
cable, they work perfectly with the speaker out on the K3. Nice thing, if you
have the sub receiver installed you can have main RX in one and SUB RX in the
other one. They sit on a shelf right above the KPA500 and no RF gets into them
at all. I can actually get enough undistorted audio out of them to rattle the
windows so they solved my problem. I AM hard of hearing so wasn't really
complaining about the K3 having low audio, all current rigs tend to have low
sounding audio to me.
