Unfortunately, yes, Thomas. Laptops are not very immune from RF, especially things like touchpads.
OF course, in Susan's case, if it happens in receive, there is no RF being generated unless there is another source of RF nearby. Susan, is your radar on or off? Any other emitters nearby? I've had problems on large ships with erratic electronics when they were docked close to a powerful broadcast antennas. Is there somewhere away from your boat you can fire up the K3 and see if it still misbehaves? Since it happens in receive, does it continue when you disconnect your antenna and everything else except dc power? It happens on virtually all bands/modes, but of course especially noticable on PSK31 and similar when you tend to use the laptop while transmitting. 73, Thomas M0TRN (and a very merry Christmas to all!) If it ONLY happens when you adjust AND rig is TX, be sure you aren't suffering from RF in the shack. RF in the shack often presents as something totally weird, that doesn't seem to make any sense. 73, Guy On Sun, Dec 25, 2011 at 1:30 PM, Ron D'Eau Claire <[email protected]> wrote: > Skipper, I believe that can be caused by a bad connection in the antenna > system changing the load on the amp.
