It's all Elecraft's fault. They: 1) make a superior product 2) keep the prices reasonable 3) actively support their product line 4) send out announcements of new products of things hams actually want 5) have earned a faithful following 6) present new products at major events (Pacificon); generate excitement 7) keep producing upgrades to firmware and hardware, improving everything 8) haven't slowed down yet.
So I blame Elecraft. :-D I'll put up with the 'QRM' because it still presents an opportunity to learn, even if I don't have one of the other hardware. Rick NHC -----Original Message----- From: Ron D'Eau Claire Mike, consider that many of those posting here have no one 'live' with which to share their excitement. With every new Elecraft rig starting the ordering process, there is an avalanche of these messages from excited Hams. You call it "QRM". That's an excellent description. But understand that 90% of the messages here on any subject are just QRM to many. Consider that the K2, K1 or KX1 enthusiast who tries to follow messages about his rig must delete 99.9% of the posts here as "QRM". Even those who have the K3/P3/KPA500 "K-Line", but whose interests do not include contesting, chasing dx, and interfacing their rig with a computer, find the vast majority of messages here simply QRM. In that regard I find scanning the messages here much like scanning the Ham bands - sometimes it's interesting "reading the mail" and often not. 73, Ron AC7AC ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
