Hi Waine, and all the team First thing first, a Happy New Year 2012 to all the team!
Now, my problem : I have, from a friend of mine a K2, #4895, who is not playing his part!!! It come from South Pacific (French Polynesie) and the problem is manifest with, mainly, no frequency display. As I have another K2, I canibalized it to test the first. -1/ I exchanged the control bord and everything is OK. -2/ Next I put back in the Control Board and exchanged the µcontroler U1. Identical results, no frequency display. I did check the U1 pin voltage, and they seem OK. -3/ I put back the µcontroler and exchanged the RF board µcontroler. No changes the same result as the #2. I also dis check voltages on this RF Board U1, and they look OK too. Then, with my small digital scope, I tried to see the AuxBus signals, on the Contro Board U1 and on the RF Board U1 too. They look OK for me, but it's subjectif as I do not have the timing of the µcontroler from the Control Board. The frequency display give you either 0.000.00 or 15.999.99 dependign on the band (but you do not know on wich band you are!) But I ear the relais working each time I push Band+ or Band-. All other functions seems to work. I'm able to set up the SMeter low and high values, Mode change as it should, All Menu functions come up and display correctly. By the way, the curent is normal (13.9 V, 0.32 with only the NB in place). The PA is dead, one 2sc1969 is open! So, have you Waine or other people, any idea about what I should check? Beside that I would like to order : 3 PA kits or 6 2sc1969 (E580008), 6 chassis fastener (E100078) Just email me the amount for these parts and I will pay you as I always did. I by your intervention I need some other part, I will then make another order. ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
