Wayne had posted this on the KX3 Yahoo group 2 days ago: "You'll be able to configure either the left-side KEY jack or the KXPD3 as paddle normal, paddle reverse, or hand-key. Auto-detect of a hand key in parallel with a paddle via two diodes is possible but not yet implemented."
