HRD can turn the radio on/off depending of the rig design, the K3 is not one of them.
My other rig can do that, that's why my K3 is not in my desk anymore for remote operation. However, you can install a relay design to turn power on your K3 from the 15 pin port I think grounding pin 8 if remember right. People is been asking for this for long time, if I buy another K3 i will try and show a way. Right now enjoing Remote operation with my Iphone.
