Yep. Usually the plate, especially for a Q-multiplier. It was called a
"gimmick capacitor".

Gee, this takes me back - in the 50s you could pick off enough signal to 
drive the Heath Q-multiplier by wrapping a couple of turns of insulated 
wire around a pin on the mixer tube.  Maybe the plate?
