Don, No I haven't joined there. I'm already sifting through 125-300 emails a day (after I dropped 17 groups three months ago!). I'll join and read from the web; that will limit my inbox.
Even when moving within the 'CW' portion of a band (I've been doing DX S&P some in the contest), its changing modes when I tap the DX cluster entry. I find no menu setting to en/disable the mode set 'feature' or set any parameters. It's very poor programming style to add something new and untested without any chance for the user to turn that feature off. Yes, it's beta, but they 'broke' it. It doesn't bode well for the new owners. If I can set the ranges (a-b for CW, b-c for data, c-d for phone) then it might be useful. It would be more useful to allow me to set the K3 mode when switching modes in DM780 too (Data A for PSK, CW for CW). But until it is finished, allow me to turn it OFF. There is also a new "Radio Operations Center" but no documentation at all. I haven't tried it since I don't know what it does or how to implement it. But something new in this version is still causing the VFO to jump (only 3-5 KHz, but it is never appropriate). I checked the port values and they're appropriate. Something else is belching in this version. 73, Rick WA6NHC -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] Hi Rick, I dont know about the random frequency jumps, but the changing of modes is someting new in version 5.1. Some like it some dont. Me I do not like it and there is discussion on maybe in the future that there is a selection to make it do what you want it to do. Are you on the HRD group in yahoo groups, it has become quite active since the release of 5.1 and some good information is being exchanged and some shall we just say bad information also. Cheers ~73 Don KD8NNU ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
