Moe, The 1.5 kHz roofing filter will still be used for very small splits (typical of a DX station requesting "up 1" or "up 2" in CW mode pileups). Beyond that the roofing filters are turned off.
I'll post a detailed explanation of the filter bandwidths when I get a chance.
