I used the HPS-1a a few times with my FT KX3 and didn't notice any problems with RFI. But my test was in no way comprehensive. When it comes back from volunteer duty on the front lines in Watsonville, I plan to do more thorough testing.
I bought the Gamma PS to drive a 100W K3 when size and weight are of the essence and I like it for that. I'm using it with the KX3 because I have it. If I were to buy a PS just for a barefoot KX3, I would go for a more conventional design, probably a linear supply, because it wouldn't have to be any bigger or heavier than the Gamma. /Rick N6XI On Fri, Apr 6, 2012 at 6:31 AM, w8crh <[email protected]> wrote: > Hi Wayne, I have the Gamma HPS-1a small switching supply....Alas....I > am way down > the list for receiving my KX3, due to having ordered the morning of > 12/28.
