Everyone's hunches were correct! It was the little slider switch on the control board. I must have bumped it when I was unplugging the cables. I switched it back to '12V' and everything worked fine. I even found it in the manual later on (Go figure.. looked at the directions hihi). Thanks everyonen for your help. Ah yes, I forgot to mention my K2 vintage, it's S/N 2735.
So far I don't have communications between the radio and the computer, but I have to check the serial cable and I'll have to double-check the KIO2.
