I've been using an earlier version of the Heil FS-3 for over 20 years.
Simple, reliable, and relatively small and unobtrusive.

Subject: Re: [Elecraft] Foot switch recommendation?

Joe,

A switch is a switch, is a switch. They all should be electrically the
same - either open or closed.
The things to look for are physical characteristics that fit your
opeation - amount of pressure to make contact, the spring tension to
restore it to an on\pen switch position, and other related parameters.

There is nothing sacred about either metal or plastic, it is all about
effectiveness of the switch action.
