Here is one data point: My K3 had both a failed front panel board and SUBRX board.
**HOWEVER**, both were my fault. I plugged a mono plug into the speaker jack and thus shorted and blew an audio amp on the FP board. I got impatient with the tiny TMP antenna connector on the SUB and tore it off the PCB while trying to plug in the antenna cable - brute force was a bad idea. Elecraft replaced both boards, no charge, retail price roughly $1000 (CAD). No other failures whatsoever in 3 years and several hundred hours operating, plus two trips as airline carryon baggage.
