One reason I experience is that UHF connectors are not available for all types of coaxial cable. Case in point, UHF connectors are no longer available for some sizes of Andrew (now Commscope) Heliax however type-N or BNC are for those sizes. So it's not always a bandwidth, loss, or impedance related problem but a simple hardware issue instead. Gary N6LRV
