The Yamaha CM500 boom mic headset is VERY popular, is quite comfortable to wear, and both the mic and headphones sound great with the K3. Using TXEQ and the K3's excellent audio processing, it's quite easy to make the sound anything from full range to highly processed for competitive contesting and DX chasing, and all the settings sound really good unless you do something really dumb. :) Cost is about $45 with free shipping from amazon and several other online sources. BTW -- I'm a retired audio professional, and still own a bunch of very high quality recording and broadcast mics, but the CM500 has been my only ham mic since a neighbor ham (also and audio pro) told me about it three years ago. 73, Jim K9YC ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
