I assume the K3 rather than the KX3. Simply tapping the RIT button should be sufficient to turn on RIT. Initially the green LED will light (indicating zero offset), and then as you rotate the RIT/XIT knob, one or the other of the yellow LEDs will light indicating negative RIT offset or positive offset. The amount of offset is indicated briefly in the VFO B area.
