Hi Mike, I am sending in my second K3 for some upgrades this weekend.
My unit is a little older serial 1526 and needs the REMIOUPGD upgrade In order to provide band switching data and negative alc to my yaesu quadra amp (my hypothesis for the PW-1 the same is needed). I am also getting additional filters and mods. You should call Elecraft and speak to a tech and let him know what you operating preferences are and review the list of mods and accessories to get a tech's perspective. They are pretty fair and balanced when it comes to recommendations.
