Your W1 serial cable should work fine with the KX3. Some KX3 owners favor right-angle plugs, but it should be OK if the straight-in works for you.
I used the same home brew cable for a number of years for development of utilities for the W2, K144XV, KX3, XG3, and KAT500 until I upgraded to a KXSER that has molded connectors. These all use the same 3-wire TxD, RxD, ground connections with a 3.5mm TRS plug. Pinout is in your W1 manual. 73 de Dick, K6KR -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of NZ8J Sent: Saturday, September 01, 2012 10:13 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [Elecraft] KX3/W1 Serial cable? I have a serial cable that I use on my W1 wattmeter but don't have a serial cable with my KX3 (I got a USB cable with it). Would the cable for the W1 work on the KX3. I would assume so, but assuming has occasionally got me in trouble in the past. :) 73 Tim NZ8J ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
