Thanks, Fred. I had never heard it refered to as "digital" noise reduction before. Every manufacturer has their own acronyms for various functions, often to make them sound somehow "better" than other manufacturer's schemes. I wasn't sure if perhaps Yaesu was calling something "dynamic noise reduction", and perhaps how they claimed that worked. Thanks again for the explaination of the acronym. 73, Bruce, N1RX
