I also use the Yamaha CM-500 headset, and a pair of RS Optimus speakers that I found in a 2nd hand store. No problem between the two. If you are using inefficient speakers, then I can understand your problem, but OTOH, there is an AF gain control that you can easily use when switching from speakers to headphones. The K3 cannot be "automatic" to all users choices of speaker response and headphone sensitivity.
