If you do decide to buy an older K2 kit, ask about the serial number. Those with s/n below 4060 will possibly need firmware updates. These are actual hardware upgrades that are not trivial. My K2 was one of the first few hundred sold, and I had to do this.
Unless you can get a great deal, and know how good the builder's skills are and why it was not completed, your best bet is a brand new K2 kit which will not need to be upgraded. 72/73 de Jim - AD6CW On 11/4/2012 3:00 PM, Johnny Siu wrote: > Hello Bill, > > Apart from Don's advice, you may consider a built but older version K2. > Doing the modification update to an old but functionable K2 could be > interesting. > > TNX & 73, > > > Johnny VR2XMC > ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
