I find it difficult to believe that you'd be getting noise levels that high from CFLs. I have several in my home (different brands ... nothing special) and I haven't experienced anything being even close to that extreme. If you're getting S9+40 QRN you should be able to pinpoint the cause, and I doubt you will find it coming from a CFL.
