Well, with the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics planted firmly in one cheek ... I want 3-30 MHz with at least 10 dB gain. Don't we all? :-) Big doesn't always do it in all departments. In the coastal marine service in 1956/7, our transmit [and receive] antennas were huge by ham standards ... unless you were W6AM. Unfortunately, one antenna per transmit frequency, and most of the HF receive frequencies too.

I was just stunned by that LP. I was 23, fresh out of college, a ham for 10 years, but 5 of those were in college, basic training, and officers' school, and pretty much QRT. Biggest beam I'd ever seen. I was equally stunned when I found out exactly how it worked.
