The cable they supply is missing pins 1, 4, 6, 7, and 8 on purpose. The band data however is on pins 3, 9, 13, and 14. If you have continuity on those pins, then I guess the KPA should follow the KAT (which follows the K3). Page 19 of the KPA manual shows the required cable (so you could home brew one). It's also shown on page 8 of the KAT manual.
