Jeff based on my experience with this machined pin type socket I have never seen a problem because they grip in multiple locations on the side of the pin. Your trouble is likely elsewhere. If trouble is suspected I would remove the tywrap and use a small screw driver to lever the module out from each end and then inspect the pins. Assuming the pins are OK I would reinsert. That will renew the contacts. 73 Fred, AE6QL

Assuming the issue lies w/ the TCXO (I've got the KTCXO3-1), I pulled an extra two 'clicks' on the tie band to tighten it down (there was a bit of a gap between the oscillator and the socket, but the error remains. I then carefully disconnected the KREF3 board and shot this pic: http://kc9wsj.us/KREF3_TCXO.jpg Is that tiny gap still an issue? Do I need to pull the crystal and trim its leads? (I hope I can find a small enough replacement tie band in my collection) 73 Jeff KC9WSJ ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
