More info: I have the ATU installed in the KX3. Even with the KX3 directly connected to a good 50 ohm load, running an autotune on the XV bands (28 MHz) causes lots of relay chatter in the radio, and a displayed SWR of 25.4 that does not change. On the other bands (including 28 MHz) it immediately goes to 1.0. Setting the ATU to bypass still does not get RF output on the XV bands. The current draw key down at 0.1 watt is about 0.43 A on the XV bands, and about .55 on the HF bands where there is output. Has the KX3 firmware caught up with the XV bands? I'm using V1.30. 73 - Jim K8MR In a message dated 1/8/2013 10:15:12 P.M. Eastern Standard Time, jimk...@aol.com writes:
I'm working at getting my DEM transverters interfaced to the KX3. I've set up the first three XVTR bands, configured for 28 MHz IF. With the KX3 max power set at 0.1W on the transverter bands, I'm only getting about 20 mW of 28 MHz RF output (1V RMS measured on the scope). When I use 28 MHz with the power set at 0.1W I'm showing about 350 mW (4V RMS). I can increase the RF power by increasing the KX3 max power setting, but still it is much lower on the XV bands than on 28 MHz. The absolute numbers may not be very accurate, but why the big difference? 73 - Jim K8MR ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
