Good Evening,
It has been sunny this week and today the temperature rose to 57
degrees. There is still some snow left but you have to look for it.
With the temperature inversion I am warmer than the valley folk. My
chimney sends its smoke upward a few feet and then it all flows
downhill. While it is very clear up here there is a layer of smoke at
about 800 feet.
Conditions on forty meters were not very good this week. Lots of
QSB from what may be the aurora. In any case the sun is doing something
which is unsettling the ionosphere. I have been cutting down a few
alder during this nice weather. With more room up above I'll be able to
raise my antenna ten more feet. Thinning is good for the forest crop
and gives more room for unobstructed antennas.
Please join us tomorrow afternoon and evening.
