The K3 front panel power schematic shows three 3-terminal regulators for
8V, 5V and 3.3V. I don't see why they'd use anything other than the
front panel. The front panel MCU would run the RS-232 port.
I'd probably make a little pigtail from RCA male to 5.5x2.1 barrel
female. Then you can use a standard power adapter. As long as you're
using a wall wart, I don't think the RCA plug "hot" being exposed is
really a concern since it's only hot relative to its ring.

The K3/0 uses, for 12V input, the RCA jack that's normally the 12V
accessory output on a K3. This is not ideal, in that it leaves the
"hot" 12V line exposed on the pin of he male RCA plug when it's not
connected, but I suppose the intent was to use the existing K3
metalwork.
So can anyone confirm whether or not the K3/0 has an internal voltage regulator?

HI Chris:
I can't imagine that the K3/0 draws more than 1A... most likely way less.
If so, per Don's suggestion to try Marlin P. Jones.. how about this:

???
I also assume it uses the "standard" 5.5 by 2.1 mm barrel connector. I
can't determine if the linked item is center tip positive or not.

greetings Elecraft brain trust...
this may sound like a silly question, and I know its sacrilige in most
amateur forums, but does anyone know if there is and/or does elecraft
support a suitable 12v wall wart that can be used safely to power the K3/0
terminal? I currently use a small astron switcher with it.. With no RF
noise worries in the shack (I guess i now call it the terminal facility) I
was wondering if I could slim down the install even more for portabilities
sake.
(of course now I can also put up the old retired plasma tv in the shack to
display grey line and spot data without worry of qrn hi hi).
thanks~
