Can someone with personal experience give advice on the following, I do a lot of traveling on the Interstate. Four days a week on the average. Some trips would be from Houston to Oakland. Each August I travel by boat from Oakland to Anchorage. The whole trip goes no more than 60 miles off shore. On some of the HAM radio's ad's they show small hand held with "crossband" buit is that worth the extra bucks. Is that a big advanage?? The radio must be able to small enough to fit in a duffle bag and not be a problem to carry on commercial flights.
