Hey Wayne, Not sure you were joking with that de-soldering process. As a POS field tech during the early 70's, I had to troubleshoot and repair generation-1 mini-computers to the component level in grocery stores. Picture performing each of those desoldering steps while standing at a checkout lane at a busy Ralph's, or sitting cross-legged on the floor of a dirty office. And don't forget the mods to the wire-wrap boards and fixing the paper tape readers on the ASR-33 TTY consoles. Those were certainly [NOT] the days!
