Ian,
The mic audio in the speaker is definitely not normal. That says you
have something connected incorrectly.
First question is - did you remove the KSB2 board during the K60XV
installation? If so, check to be certain it is plugged in correctly.
Next, is the problem seen only on SSB transmit for 40 and 60 meters?
Check some other bands. If only 40 and 60 meter bands, check that the
K60XV board is plugged in correctly. It is not the easiest thing to get
those pins aligned right, you have to peer under the board to get both
the 3 pin header and the 8 pin header aligned at the same time.
If neither of the above are the problem, check your installation steps,
particularly the points where the coax on the bottom of the RF board end
points are placed. It sounds like you may have soldered the J13 end of
that coax to the wrong pin and that could feed a bit of transmit RF back
into the receiver. If your K2 SN is less than 3000, make certain the
trace cut is complete.

Hi all.
I have just added the 5MHz board to the K2. At first I could get hardly any
power out on any band, but after switching on/off this cleared, at least for
CW. Apparently it's to do with the transverter option.
However, now on SSB there is still very little RF output, but there is mic
audio from the speaker (!), even without pressing the PTT. Is there some deep
menu opition I have some how channged, or have I done something else...? I
can't think of a real use for a mic-through-speaker option - it just gives AF
feed back.
I did the factory reset (I know, all the filters etc. must be reset now), but
it hasn't made any difference to the audio through speaker/very low SSB output
'feature'.
Can someone advise as to what I have done and how to undo it please?
