I was about to order the BL1 balun, but once again have
procrastinated. Is it save to say that if I buy the BL2, I won't be
needing the BL1? (Sometimes it pays to put things off!)

Hi Tom,
The BL2 does exactly the same thing as the BL1, but handles more power
(up to 250 watts) and has a 1:1/4:1 switch. Both baluns have the same
very flat response from 500 kHz to 55 MHz. If you think you'll ever use
more than 100 W, or if you routinely use 100 W with high-SWR loads, I'd
go with the BL2, which uses a core that's twice as large as the BL1's.
