I'm not too clear on whether the rubber pad referred to is attached to the case or to one of the fold-out legs. Unless you sat on the KX3, I doubt if a leg would bend, but it's pretty easy to dislodge a slip-on rubber foot and then pushing it back on with a bit too much energy might alter the height it sits at on the foot. Again, a bit too much energy used pushing the foot back over the leg might distort the rubber. I suppose the leg's stop point against the case could have been bent very slightly
I find that when I reach around the back to pull out a leg, I sometimes hook the foot on the back of the case and give it a pull. That could move it in relation to the securing screws and cause a wobble. Also, uneven tightness of screws could cause a wobble. I don't cut the nylon screws flush, I leave them a bit proud, after checking that they wouldn't interfere with anything on the RF board. I run metal screws first through the holes that are to have nylon screws fitted to them. That does the trick without needing a tap. Glad you had spares to hand to sort it. 73 Dave G3TJP ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
