Robin,

I saw your email to me a few days ago, but was not able to respond because you sent it from Nabble and it did not put your email address in the TO: field - instead it substituted the nabble address and I am not subscribed there.

I strongly believe you have a problem in the bandpass filter - C32, C34 or relay K6.

Examine the case of K6 first. If it has any 'soldering iron scars', replace it.

If K6 is OK, then try setting the power at 1.5 watts and doing a TUNE with the K2 set to 18100 kHz. Adjust C32 and C34 for the maximum power output.

If that does not cure your problem, then ask again (but not through Nabble).

Don W3FPR

I obtained a well built plain K2 that has normal power out and receive on
all bands except 17m.
On 17m power is very low at .1watt and power control has no effect. I hear
a clean signal on my other receiver but faint.
On receive the K2 does receive but signals are 9 to 10 s-units down.
As an aside, the filters need alignment.
I have just started reading the manual and am interested in being able to
maintain this my dream HF rig.
