Curt, That is exactly the same problem I am having. Further testing revealed that it is happening on CW as well as SSB on my radio. I haven't tried digital modes, but I suspect that it would do the same there as well. I don't always get the ERR FW2 when the transmit drops out as you described. It happens only 1 out of 5 or 6 times maybe. I have not tried using an older firmware version, but maybe that is the next step? Please keep in touch if you find anything out and I will do the same.
