I've encountered several instances where being able to play back a recording of a received SSB station would have been helpful to the other op in trying to diagnose a problem (RF feedback, distortion, mic gain level, etc...)
A review of the KDVR3 documentation indicates that when re-transmitting previously received and recorded audio (not a message), the transmitted audio will be modified by the current TX Equalizer and Compression settings. For my intended usage, this would not be desirable since the transmitted audio wouldn't accurately reflect what was received.
