Thanks for the responses. Now that I know it is a very weak signal I'm listening for, I've listened more closely and I do hear a tone just below the band edges. (These old ears don't work like they used to). It seems there are too many variables to use this as an accurate signal to align the K1. Until I can connect with someone who has an accurate signal source, I've aligned the K1 using ARRL code practice broadcasts. As long as I stay well away from the bottom of the band edges, I should be okay?
