If I understand you correctly, you are OK.
There were some backlight LED assemblies that had short leads, and they
had to be soldered from the component side (in that case, the spacers
would prevent soldering). If you put the spacers over the LED leads and
were able to solder them from the solder side, then all will be well, no
need to remove the spacers.

realized your supposed to take them out. I checked with meter and there not
shorting anything out. All resistance checks at the end are good also. You
cant see them with front panel on either. At this point I think its safer to
leave them in there versus butchering them out. Unless there going to cause
problems? This is the 5th K2 Ive built youd think I could do this in my sleep
now.
