I have a Radio Shack P/N 274-0374 1/8" Mono Jack to 1/8 Stereo Plug Adapter stuck in the back of my K3. It feeds the mono plug to my ICOM SP 20.
No smoke so far, but I've wondered if the mono input side of the adapter still shorts the stereo output. Suppose I should test it and find out. I read somewhere that there was an internal K3 upgrade to potentially reduce the problem. If it's an issue, maybe Elecraft should offer a preferred adapter?
