Dick,

You did not indicate if the feedback is in the internal K3 speaker or an external speaker. I have no problem with my K3 using an ext. spkr (but that is because it is unamplified 1950's era National 8-inch speaker).

I do get audio feedback with my KX3 because I am using cheap computer speakers that are prone to RF rectification in the amplifier. I have to run the speaker volume down if I operate 300w on HF or 6m. That requires running the KX3 volume too high for my tastes (tends to become distorted at the high end). I like running a combination volume settings where the volume in the KX3 is set about 8-12.

So back to my point that cheap amplified speakers can be subject to stray RF in the shack. My 300w amp is still open-air and not enclosed in a cabinet (which would also help reduce feedback in my wife's FM radio in her hobby room next to the shack). I bought her the West Mountain speaker for her computer and it is totally free of RF pickup; I'll be getting a pair for my KX3 sometime this winter. Also buying an enclosure for the 300w amp including bypassing of the dc and control lines.

But first checking monitor setting is a good idea. I've had that happen a time or two going between CW and SSB.

I am getting audio feedback via the speaker when I transmit on K3. What's a way to solve this.
